In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its devastating impact on New Jersey’s carceral facilities, our organization has launched a social media campaign to lift up the testimony of the incarcerated. These are people on the front lines of the crisis whose voices and lives are often left out of media narratives. Following the preventable death of Ms. Tiffany Mofield in Edna Mahan Correctional Facility, we will be focusing campaign efforts on increasing awareness about Ms. Mofield’s life and the conditions at Edna Mahan as enabled by NJDOC which led to her death.
As you are directly involved in Ms. Mofield’s family’s efforts to have her records released, we are reaching out to you to inquire if there are any concrete steps we can take to support this legal action and the movement to achieve justice for Ms. Mofield. Our goal is to have our efforts amplify the interests of Ms. Mofield’s family and to ensure that no more deaths occur at Edna Mahan and other facilities across the state.
